How does an Archer handle winds that are 19g29 ? I guess that's MPH taher than Knots, but still, that's a fair bit.

Yeah, the G29 part would be kind of dicey. I've flown in winds greater than 19 knots, although the crosswind component is 17 knots so I'd have to watch what runway I was landing on.

Basically Archers are pretty good in winds, though. Much less twitchy than a Cessna in ground handling, because they're low-wings.

My primary instructor taught me the crab-and-kick method of crosswind landings, and I fought and fought and fought with that, making lots of incredibly bad landings. Much later I was re-taught with the slip-in method, where you land on one wheel first. I'm doing much better now with my crosswind landings.

Did you know the B-52 has castering landing gear, so it can be landed in a crab? I guess once it slows down enough to not "fly" on the gear it straightens out. Pretty cool.
