14L

third time, being the charm

Well yesterday I got to the airport all excited and nervous, and there was no aircraft and no flight instructor. Really irritated, I returned to campus in a fit of pique. It took me a few hours to figure out what had happened: whoever wrote my initials in the signout sheet for the plane did so in such a stylized print that they looked like the letters "XXX" and everyone assumed the reservation had been canceled. Grump.

So I'm trying again at 10am today. At least the weather is still holding, although it's supposed to get quite windy later this afternoon. I hope that that "later this afternoon" holds true. It's pretty nice right now; sky clear, visibility unlimited, wind south at ten knots.

It's a beautiful day today, for sure, and supposed to be back in the 70's this afternoon. Too bad my entire afternoon is consumed with a tedious bureaucratic work meeting.

Becca should be in Poland by now. I hope she has a great start to her vacation.
