on being home again

Given the insane amounts of rain and thunder there have been in the Midwest today, it's somewhat of a miracle that all my flights were on time. But they were. I suppose flying through St. Louis instead of Chicago helped. As it was, the little Jetstream 41 from STL to home landed with lightning striking all around, and on the drive home from the airport the skies opened up into a really massive thunder and rainstorm. We landed just in time! I was surprised at how close we were getting to the obvious thunderstorms, but there was little turbulence and, well, I figured they have radar up there, and they know what they're doing...

I'm glad Kathy is here tonight (she's been here since Tuesday). It made the house seem much more warm and lived-in when I got home. It really helps a lot!

Tomorrow: work, and a lot of it. And an instrument lesson if these thunderstorms take a hike.

Talked to Kate when I got home. I think both she and I are depressed.
