I think the most amazing thing I saw in Alaska was the aurora borealis. We had two displays of it, one on each night we were in Fairbanks, and I think it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Although it moves quite slowly, the motion of it adds a sense of haunting to it that doesn't come across in a still photo. I was pleased that this time exposure came out; a 10-second exposure without a tripod is not usually something that works.
