There has been a snag in the repair process

59H's engine mount-nose gear had a mistake in its fabrication, and another one is expected to be received this week. There are adjustable stops in the nose gear that limit how far the nose wheel can turn, and one of the stops was out of position and at the wrong angle and could not be adjusted properly.

The nose gear is on the critical path now, because it has to be installed so that the plane can be towed to a different hangar where they can paint the plate that was riveted over the dent on the bottom of the cabin and the fork that supports the nose wheel.

Surprisingly (to us and to the mechanics as well), it turns out that the bent prop can be straightened. It is currently at the prop shop, with no estimated time for it to get shipped back to us.

So that's that. We're getting out of the good flying weather anyway.
