So after my horrendous tripping and falling of last week, most everything is either healed or well on the way, except for the worst abrasion, on the heel of my left hand. It was scraped down to what appeared to be fat and muscle, so it's got a nice regeneration job ahead of it, which I have been watching with disgust and fascination. Through the miracle of differentiation and mitosis, there's now a translucent layer of what appears to be dermal skin sliming across the wound, with angry-infecty leukocyte-battle redness along the edges. When I leave it exposed to air, it dries into a reasonable looking facsimile of skin; when I re-dose it with antibiotic cream and a bandage, it reverts to its waxy translucent look.
However it looks, it still hurts like a son of a bitch.
