Amusing coffee shop signs

I'm sitting in the back of the adorable little café in Madison (stuffedsheep29's Fair Trade Coffee—sorry Allison, no mugs or travel mugs or anything like that for sale here; I asked). Stuck to the thermostat on the wall are three separate little signs.

PLEASE LEAVE ALONE

Okay, we get it already.

I'm late to the conference today. I got enough sleep, showered, felt fine, and was right on time for breakfast at the conference venue, but after walking two blocks became VERY ill, and had to return to the room for an hour or so. I'm doing a lot better now, so I'll be on my way to the conference in a bit. I have no idea what happened. Maybe a bit of last night's dinner didn't agree.

Coke BlaK

I forgot to mention that when I was in Dallas, there were several billboards advertising something called "Coke BlaK", a "fusion beverage" of Coke and Coffee. I was immediately fascinated.

I figured it was being test marketed in the Dallas area, but we found some at our local grocery store. At $5 for a 4-pack of 8-ounce bottles, it's hardly worth it, but i bought one to see what I thought of it.

Well, I actually like it, but in that curiosity-based way, which means I'll probably tire of it. The coffee flavor could be stronger, and more balanced with the sweeter Coke flavor. And speaking of sweet, it's flavored with fucking Aspartame, which I find pretty ruinous to the flavor. And I don't understand why it's artificially sweetened. It's not like people who drink this kind of thing are also looking for a lo-cal beverage.

And while it has twice the caffeine per ounce as regular Coke, the small 8-ounce bottles mean that the stimulant effect of drinking one of these is fairly limited.

Glad I tried it, but probably won't buy any more.
