Voice Memory

I just got done watching an episode of "Psych." Appearing in a guest role as a courtroom judge was an actor who I didn't really recognize at first, but occasionally when he spoke I got a REALLY strong sense of recognition. It was a little disorienting because it was one of those disembodied senses, like I somehow knew I knew that voice, somehow, but my memory didn't point me to anything specific.

It bothered me enough to rewind the program and go through the list of guest stars one by one. Finally I hit on it, and like so many tip-of-the-tongue episodes, it instantly snapped into place. Donnelly Rhodes, who also plays the curmudgeonly and chain-smoking Dr. Cottle on Battlestar Galactica.

At least I can sleep soundly now.
