Networking in Ann Arbor

This being the home of the University of Michigan notwithstanding, I'm a little surprised to find the crappy little free wireless at my cheap hotel just off the interstate being provided by a company that is apparently superbly well-connected at the major network exchanges. My path from my room back home goes directly to the SOX exchange in Atlanta, thence over Internet 2 straight to UIUC.

So, uncannily, getting work done from here is pretty damn fast and pleasant.

So I'm about halfway home from Ann Arbor and stopped for dinner at a Panera. I saw the "Free Wifi!" sign and doubled back to get my laptop. And get to do a weather radar check, say hi to sudbla, check in with a couple of people from work, and relax and read my friends list whilst eating my soup and salad.

Now I will hit the road again. How nerdy am I?
