everyone seems to agree...

It's COLD out today. Everyone seems to be talking about it, from Kathy (who ate her breakfast in her room because it was too cold downstairs) to people on my LJ friends list, to the top story on cnn.com.

I'm sure waiting for the bus will not be very much fun. And it's going to be even COLDER tonight. But the long-range forecast is beginning to hint at some respite from this, early next week.

I was up really early upgrading software releases on our core routers (but Kathy STILL was up before me), but apparently not early enough; we already have a complaint from a livid administrator who is upset because THEIR system needs to be available even during our published downtimes. What I'm supposed to do about that, I don't know.

I was going to crawl back into bed after doing my work this morning, but I never did, and now it appears that I'm fully awake. Sigh.

One positive way to think about it. Think of all the mosquitos that are dying right this second.

Kristin: Amen.

"What I'm supposed to do about that, I don't know."

Send flowers. Maybe a fruit basket if the downtime runs longer than expected.

Ah, but extreme weather is an adventure!

More than the cold, I miss the violent (early summer?) rainstorms that used to fill up the Boneyard within minutes, about once a year.
